Summary: | In the midst of belt tightening and in light of how voice-related needs reflect corporate needs at a given point in time, the phone bill deserves special attention. Steps in the voice service review include: 1. asking the provider of local service for a copy of the customer service record for all the phone numbers that are being paid for, 2. tracing every one of those lines to know where it goes and it is currently working, 3. reviewing the bill to see that long distance services are not being paid for lines not on the customer service record, 4. confirming that all the lines on the customer service records are included on the long distance carrier's list, and 5. considering aggregating some inbound 800-service and letting some of the routing be processed by the carrier. |
