Summary:At about 1300 on 10 June the Panther with the dispatch boat Dolphin in company for naval gunfire support arrived at Guantanamo Bay and immediately began to land Huntington's Marines. A problem of command relationship between the commander of troops (Huntington) and the ship's commander (Cdr George C. Reiter) plagued this embryonic amphibious operation-as it would others for almost 45 years until World War II when it was largely resolved after much heated debate.
