Summary: | Both [Rodney de Kock] and provincial justice head Hishaam Mohamed have given their assurance that the province's "normal case flow" - cases not related to xenophobic violence - would not be disrupted by these special measures. Mohamed and De Kock announced yesterdaythat three dedicated courts would be established at the Khayelitsha, Atlantis and Wynberg regional courts, and matters would be placed on the court rolls there from July 1 onwards. Mohamed said that "existing resources" would be used to establish special courts. For instance, the backlog court in Atlantis would be used to deal with xenophobia-linked cases, he said. |
