Summary:  Maybe it's no surprise from a government that pays hundreds of dollars for a hammer or a toilet seat, but a federal auto-safety agency has paid $20,125 more than the sticker price for two Chrysler PT Cruisers it plans to crumple into ruined sheet metal in two weeks. "We searched all over the country to find two. . . . A dealer in New England was willing to talk."
