Supporting actor: Graham Greene the writer will never win the Nobel Prize but Graham Greene the actor may win an Oscar. And he should, though it's not quite the walk in the sun it should be, owing to the complexity of Hollywood politics. His main comptetion in this category comes from Bruce Davison in "Longtime Companion." But wait . . . in "Longtime Companion," Bruce Davison isn't the supporting actor, he's the star. Well, no matter. He's been dumped down to this category because he has a chance of winning, whereas he would have no chance in the best actor category. Still, Greene's performance as Kicking Bird, which transcended his ethnic identity and gave the "Dances With Wolves" much of its charm, should prevail.
