Summary: | -- Chicago. Through June 25 at the Burt Reynolds Theatre, 304 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta. Performances are 8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range $17-$20. Call 1-407-743-7458. New York band the Dwellers aims for the catchy rock sound pioneered by T. Rex and David Bowie in his younger days. This album was produced by Tony Visconti, who also produced albums by Rex and Bowie. The band's front man, singer Johnny Andriani, aims for true-story slice-of-life songs. Opener track New Fashion Show laments the revolving-door fads of pop culture, while Waste of Time tells the hard-luck tale of a relative who is now homeless. The band keeps an uptempo back beat to Andriani's songs, but his slightly ragged rock voice occasionally shows the strain. |
