Abstract I have seen the value of the chaplain's contribution to patient care in other ways. I volunteer with my dog in providing pet therapy. Viktor Gundel has been very accurate in directing me and Misty (the dog) to patients who would benefit from extra time with this canine therapist. The liaison between this hospital chaplain, volunteers and professional staff helps improve the quality of care to patients in innovative ways. Viktor's contribution to patient care is priceless. His position must be financed.
