Abstract A businessman hoping to build a speedway track in Billingham says he was unable to answer concerns at a public meeting - because he was never invited. The Thornaby developer, owner of the 200-acre site near Billingham Beck Valley, says he was unaware Friday's meeting, at the Old Billingham Community Centre, was even taking place. After the meeting, chair of South Billingham Residents Association, Ged McGuire, said: "I am very disappointed Mr [David Scott] hasn't turned up. I do not know his reasons for not being here, but he could have called to let us know."
