Abstract Musees Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire, tel: (2) 508-33-33, closed Mondays. Continuing/ To Feb. 13: "James Ensor." A retrospective of 300 paintings, drawings and engravings. After Naturalistic and Impressionistic experiments, Ensor (1860-1949) settled into a pre- Expressionist vision of a world permeated by dreams, phantasmagoria and even hallucination. Ordrupgaard, tel: 39-64-11-83, closed Mondays. To Nov. 28: "Degas and New Orleans." Portraits of the American members of Degas's family are the recurring motif in the works created by the French Impressionist (1834-1917), who spent several months in the United States in the early 1870s. Musee d'Orsay, tel: 01-40-49-48-48, closed Mondays. To Jan. 9: "Theo Van Gogh: Art-dealer, Collector, Vincent's Brother." While Theo's financial and moral support of his brother is widely acknowledged, his role as an art dealer in Amsterdam and Paris in the 1880s is less known. Theo developed a taste for Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings, and the two brothers gathered a collection that included works by Corot, Degas, Gauguin, Monet and Renoir.
