Despite 75 years of women's suffrage, just 60 women MPs were elected to Parliament in the last General Election - 9.2 per cent of the total. In the European parliament a mere 15 per cent of the UK's MEPs are women. If we are to change the culture of the British and European parliaments it is clear that we need more women MPs and MEPs.
