Abstract | MARK REIS, THE GAZETTE - Jasmine Davis, a resident of the Castle West Apartments, sought refuge at a temporary Red Cross shelter Tuesday.; BRYAN OLLER, THE GAZETTE - Dozens of firefighters battled an early morning apartment fire Tuesday near East Uintah Street and Academy Boulevard. The fast-moving fire destroyed the Castle West Apartments and displaced dozens of tenants, several of whom leaped from the burning building. Five ladder trucks doused the fire from above for several hours.
