Musical bash on Nov. 5 will benefit Blackville Resource Centre

The resource centre operates several community-based initiatives, including the food bank, which serves clients from Upper Blackville to Renous. The resource centre client list recently reached 99 individuals from 59 families. The resource centre has had some great support recently from Blackville Credit Union, which helped us raise some funds on Credit Union Day, and from Jerry Stafford at ValuFoods, who makes food donations through his 50-50 draw program. The resource centre also became a member of Food Banks Canada on June 1, which qualifies us to receive much-needed donations of food from Food Banks Canada, which we first received in August. That's the good news. To warm up the audience, we have tapped in to the incredible wealth of local talent. Blackville people will be doing their part. Pastor Albertine LeBlanc, Father Gerry Laskey and Ken MacIntosh will sing on behalf of the resource centre. Wade Hallihan will make an appearance, only adding that it won't be as Stompin' Tom this time. Ted Lynch will be there to sing, and Roy MacRae will be coming as well, although he's not letting on yet what he'll surprise us with.
