Functionally graded MoSi sub 2 -Al sub 2 O sub 3 tubes for temperature-sensor applications

MoSi sub 2 and Al sub 2 O sub 3 are thermodynamically stable high-temperature materials whose thermal expansion coefficients match closely. Composites of these materials have potential for use in applications such as protective sheaths for high-temperature sensors.
