Trapping and Reemission of Deuterium Implanted in BN

Re-emission curves and thermodesorption spectra have been measured for deuterium ions implanted into BN. The thermodesorption spectra consist of several peaks in the range of 400-1100K. Re-emission curves are described by a simple mathematical model including diffusion, second order thermodesorption...

Abstract Re-emission curves and thermodesorption spectra have been measured for deuterium ions implanted into BN. The thermodesorption spectra consist of several peaks in the range of 400-1100K. Re-emission curves are described by a simple mathematical model including diffusion, second order thermodesorption, and defect trapping. The recycling factor and defect trapping factor were found to depend exponentially on temperature at T > 600K, but deviate from this at ambient temperature. It is supposed that some radiation-enhanced and thermally-activated processes dominate at ambient and elevated temperatures, respectively.
