Abstract Syriacs, one of the oldest tribes living in Mesopotamia, live intensively in Mardin and around of in Turkey. Since, Patriarch Yakup Baradaus has been effective on appearing of Syriacism, it is also called as Jacobites. Within this work the socio- cultural change of Syriacs come back from abroad has been focused on. This investigation has the scanning model, literature scanning, interview and observation techniques have been used. Information has been gathered through the views of Syriacs living in Mardin and its periferies. 'Open ended interview technique' was used to collect information and a belief study has been carried out. It has been seen that going abroad was based on indispensable reasons and they came back when the conditions started to change. It has been determined that although it is not very much; migration caused cultural change and because of this reason, there has been changing in some main values. Adapted from the source document.
