Abstract Ethrel application at different stages did not significantly influence seed yield of hybrid rice whereas Pusa Sugandha 4 with or without GA sub(3) application being at par with one another yielded significantly higher than all hybrid rice treatments. Among the hybrid rice treatments, the highest seed yield was recorded for GA sub(3) application only followed by ethrel application 12 days after GA sub(3) application. The lowest seed yield was recorded with ethrel application 4 days after GA sub(3) application and ethrel application 4 and 8 days after GA sub(3) application. However, all the treatments produced statistically similar seed yield. The effect of different treatments on leaf area index were non-significant.
