Summary:Parallel handling unemployment and the problem of labour shortages are inevitable features of nowadays’ labour market situation that affects employees and employers at the same time. Labour shortage is substantively more often identified as the state of talent shortage in substance – in Hungarian language use it has not been embedded yet. By the substantive examination of the two concepts it can be concluded that there are many parallels between them but these concepts are not exactly the same. Labour shortage means a general, market-wide shortage of labour force. Talent shortage includes a smaller scale of shortage, that is related to the scarcity of quality workforce. Possible solutions for the problems that are caused by the moderate quantity of quality; workforce (general labour force shortage or talent shortage), can be categorised. Before the choice of solution strategy, it is important to clarify the type of shortage at the organisation because it would allow choosing the action plan which is optimally applicable and necessary.
