Summary:The evidence of important phenomenon of moth migrations (Lepidoptera) was provided by the light trap monitoring in the Krkonose (Giant) Mountains dutiny the years 2000-2002. The migratory lowland species are not autochthonous in the mountains. The most common moths seem to be noctuids Autographa gamma and Noctua pronuba. Altogether 16 characteristic migrants of the total 186 species were recorded by the Minnesota light trap. List of the moth fauna is given in the Table 1. Migrations and dispersal of moths in the high mountains are basically determined by the anemo-orographic systems. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
