The installation of the Western migrants in Europe generates for its inhabitants primarily social problems. The difficulty of granting political rights to foreigners comes from the fear of the European countries related to the change in traditional society. Immigration policies are nationally developed and the efficiency of the national policy is related to maintaining a balance between measures taken on different issues of migration and results in order to avoid the gap between reality and policy objectives and the specific consequences of this social phenomenon. European policies are still incoherent. Tracking elite recruitment, selection of migrants as needed, granting asylum, establishing equality between men and women are the main concerns of these policies, but there are weaknesses: discrimination and violating the human rights. The only solution currently worth considering for Europe seems to be learning to "live together". The current global financial crisis affects migration policies, as they are under the direct pressure of politics and the migration management system in each country. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
