Summary: | The Middle Bronze Age (henceforth, MBA) was a period of true urban culture in the southern Levant. New cities, featuring massive fortifications, large temples, cult places, and impressive palaces, were built. The material culture of the period, including, among other objects, fine pottery vessels, gold and silver jewelry, bronze objects, and bone and ivory inlays and scarabs, is rich and well executed, produced using sophisticated technology, and at times imported from other regions. This period can be (and has been) regarded to as the heyday of Canaan.
