Summary:This work proposes and evaluates an adaptive underfrequency load shedding method. The method makes use of the phasor measurement systems for the monitoring of the dynamic state of the network, estimating the unbalance between the load and generation and adapting the load shedding. The method is implemented and simulated computationally in two test systems: a distribution system with high penetration of alternative power sources and a transmission system.
