Power limitations induced by cross phase modulation in WDM 4/spl times/2.5 Gbit/s transmission over pure silica core fibre with in-line amplifiers
Power limitations induced by cascading amplifiers in a 4/spl times/2.5 Gbit/s system are experimentally investigated. We show that, in WDM systems, the cross phase modulation does not accumulate as the self phase modulation in single channel systems.
