High power Yb:YAG lasers

Summary form only given. We have now demonstrated a one kilowatt Yb:YAG oscillator, using a single 3 mm diameter, 3 cm long side-pumped rod. Results of operating this and our smaller Yb:YAG heads in MOPA architectures will also be discussed.
