Summary: | A high capacity 8×10Gbps wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system with long reach fiber link is realized in this work. System performance is evaluated for district modulators as well as varied transmission range and data traffic. Simulation results indicate that faithful transmission range of 0-90km can be achieved for mach-zehnder modulator at 80Gbps data traffic as compared to electroabsorption as well as single drive MZM modulators. Additionally, the fiber range can be extended upto 50-70km with 5-15Gbps throughput. Also, the eye patterns depict the optical performance of the system for varied fiber range utilizing MZM. This work illustrates best results as compared to existing works. |
