Structure and Magnetic Properties of Co2FeGa Heusler Alloy Films grown by Sputtering Deposition

The influence of growth conditions on the structural and magnetic properties of polycrystalline Co 2 FeGa Heusler alloy thin films prepared by sputtering deposition on Si substrate is investigated by XRD, VSM and 57 Fe conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS). Summary:The influence of growth conditions on the structural and magnetic properties of polycrystalline Co 2 FeGa Heusler alloy thin films prepared by sputtering deposition on Si substrate is investigated by XRD, VSM and 57 Fe conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS). The CEMS and VSM results suggest that the films grown and annealed for a short time (1 h) at 873 K are highly ordered, with L21 structure, potentially favoring a high spin polarization. The formation of D03 ordering in the thin films is ruled out.
