Summary: | The thermodynamics and kinetics of electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) reduction were studied experimentally. The oxygen potential in the systems was determined by the electromotive force (EMF) method. Experimental equations for ΔG = f(T) were derived. The CO content at different temperatures was determined. The highest degree of reduction was observed at the ratio EAFD/reducing agent - 1:2 at a temperature of 1 173 K. The changes in the mass during heating, the rate of the processes, and the reduction degree were mathematically modeled. The activation energy is 74,7 kJ/mol for EAFD: reducing agent 1:1 and increased to 95,2 kJ/mol for the ratio EAFD: reducing agent 1:2,5. Analysis of the reaction kinetics showed that the reduction process was mostly chemical кinetics controlled. |
