Usefulness of wbp, pbz and Hampshire breeds for three-breeds rotational crossing

Obtained results indicate that under conditions of large-scale breeding purebreed wbp and pbz animals are characterized by low productivity and their use for simple 2-breed crossing does not develop heterosis in the studied traits. It was found that Hampshire breed used for 2- and 3-breed crossing with wbp and pbz breeds led to an increase of productivity of crosses and the highest effects can be obtained for 3-breed simple crossing, following the formula: (pbz x wbp) x Hampshire. Rotational 3-breed crossing gives enhanced productivity of crosses as compared with purebreeds, but it is lower than in case of 3-breed crossing.
