Abstract A research was carried out to assess the suitability of antagonistic microorganisms to control Pyrenochaeta lycopersici (Schneider et Gerlach), which causes tomato corky root. The best results, both in terms of control and crop yield, were obtained with Trichoderma viride (Tul.), strain 18/17 SS, both in laboratory and field trials. T. viride was naturally but not uniformly found in the soil where the study was carried out E' stata valutata la capacità di alcuni microrganismi antagonisti nel contenimento di Pyrenochaeta lycopersici, l'agente causale della suberosi radicale. Per il pomodoro (Lycopersicon esculentum), la migliore azione antagonista è stata evidenziata dal ceppo 18/17 SS di Trichoderma viride, sia nelle prove di laboratorio, sia in quelle di pieno campo. I migliori risultati produttivi sono stati ottenuti dalla stessa tesi. Le analisi microbiologiche hanno evidenziato la presenza naturale, ma non uniforme, di T. viride nel suolo dove è stata condotta la sperimentazione
