Abstract Recently, in order to achieve the country _as agricultural goals on edible oil production, cultivation of oilseeds specially rapeseed, has been increased. Investigations on the evaluation of different planters has not accomplished adequately yet and there are many problems on the mechanized sowing of rapeseed. In this study, three common planters with various operating systems including: 1- grain drill 2- mechanical row-crop planter and 3- pneumatic row-crop planter, for planting winter rapeseed in five province were considered. The aim of this research, was evaluating of planters and selecting proper one in different conditions and regions. A RCBD statistical design with 6 replications were used. To evaluate of planters performance, some factors such as uniformity of planting depth, plant establishment, deviation from direct route of planting, uniformity of distance to the nearest neighboring seed, seed damage, emergence rate index, seed emergence, yield and some yield components were measured. Results indicated that: In East-Azarbaigan, west-Azarbaijan, Fars and khozestan provinces, the mechanical row-crop planter was the most suitable planter. The main problem of this planter was the greater row spacing than the recommended limit (25-27 cm), that must be improved. Due to unavailability of mechanized row-crop planter in Gholestan province, two types of grain drills were compared with a pneumatic row-crop planter. Despite preference of pneumatic planter, utilization of grain drills were suggested because of their capability to provide suitable row spacing and more availability in region.
