Effects of eucalyptus oil odor treatment provided to adults of Dysdercus koenigii (Fabr.) (Heteroptera: Pyrrhocoridae) on the insect's reproductive and subsequent postembryonic developmental programs

The eggs of Argas (A.) reflexus (Fabricius, 1794) were kept at temperature of 25 degrees C and at relative humidity (RH) of 90% from 1, 5-6, 8-10 and 21-25 day of the embryonic development. The highest percentage of dead embryos (10.9) was observed in experiments, in which the eggs were incubated at...

Abstract The eggs of Argas (A.) reflexus (Fabricius, 1794) were kept at temperature of 25 degrees C and at relative humidity (RH) of 90% from 1, 5-6, 8-10 and 21-25 day of the embryonic development. The highest percentage of dead embryos (10.9) was observed in experiments, in which the eggs were incubated at 90% RH from 1 day of the embryonic development. In these experiments developed only 42.4-42.7% normal larvae. 90% RH influenced the large percentage (30.1-42.8%) of abnormally hatched larvae. Disturbances in eggs hatching of Argas (A.) reflexus occurred irrespective of the duration of the 90% RH exposures during the embryonic development.
