Abstract Natural and climatic conditions of the Republic of Belarus allow receiving high yields of green mass of grasses. But during storage they have high losses of nutritive value. Declining of the losses can be made by application of modern technologies of feed preparation in pressed form with the help of roll and bale press sorters. If compare among roll and bale balers, the second ones have higher productivity, compact form and make less losses during harvesting. Main technological characteristics of roll and bale press-balers are presented in the article. The most important advantages and shortcomings of each device are outlined. The analysis of constructive schemes of domestic and foreign machines is carried out. Technological process of pressing of forage rolled and baled is considered by press balers. Comparative indicators of packing rolls and rectangular bales with calculation of factors of completeness of filling and revealing of efficiency of bales application press sorters are resulted.
