Abstract A nucleic acid sequence effectively expressing FLP recombinase in monocot plants, particularly in maize. Stable, transformed maize plants harboring a gene encoding FLP or harboring FRT nucleic acid sequences enable efficient site-directed recombination of nucleic acid sequences in a monocot's genome. Cette invention porte sur une séquence d'acides nucléiques qui exprime efficacement la recombinase FLP dans des plantes monocotylédones et plus particulièrement dans le maïs. Des plants de maïs transformé et stable comprenant un gène codant FLP ou contenant des séquences d'acides nucléiques FRT permettent d'effectuer la recombinaison dirigée efficace de séquences d'acides nucléiques dans le génome d'une plante monocotylédone.
