Abstract A flame detector which is used in a combustor for starting a pressurized fluidized bed combined power generating system, and whose operation failure due to ash deposition is prevented. A fuel nozzle (33) of a starting combustor is so attached as to be directed toward an inner cylinder (32), and a tube (38) in a fitting pipe (36) is so attached as to communicate with the inner cylinder (32). One end of the fitting member (36) is connected to a valve body (1) which has a valve body passage (1a) communicating with the tube (38). A recessed valve plug (3) is jointed to a shaft (2) detachably in the valve body passage (1a). At the start of the combustor, the shaft (2) rotatably engages with the shaft fitting member of the valve plug (3) and is screwed in a threaded portion (6) of the valve body (1) so that it is moved rightward by turning a handle (4) to move the valve plug (3) thereby to open the passage (1a). At the stop of the combustor, on the contrary, the passage (1a) is closed by the valve plug (3). In a normal operation, ash deposits on the recess but not on a lower glass plate (37), so that it does not disturb the function.
