Abstract | This invention details a computer controlled self adjusting sheet metal forming die (10) which can provide rapid contour changes. It eliminates the need to manufacture, store, and change individual forming dies for forming different contours, and comprises a computer control device (100) which sends appropriately timed signals to translate each contour element so that a three dimension surface is formed by a discrete matrix of individual pins (15). This self adjusting sheet metal forming die is used on a sheet metal press wherein sheet metal can be formed by pressing or stretch forming the metal against the contoured surface.
L'invention porte sur une matrice (10) d'emboutissage de tôles autoajustable commandée par ordinateur dont les contours peuvent être modifiés rapidement. Le système élimine la nécessité de fabriquer, entreposer et modifier des séries de matrices différentes pour obtenir différents contours. Le dispositif (100) de commande par ordinateur émet des signaux synchronisés qui provoquent la translation des divers éléments de formation des contours de manière à créer une surface tridimensionnelle formée d'un ensemble discret de broches (15) séparées. Ladite matrice d'emboutissage autoajustable s'utilise sur une presse servant à former les tôles par emboutissage ou pression de la tôle contre la surface ainsi obtenue. |
