Abstract An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device comprises: a first electrode body that comes into contact with the body of a user and includes a first current electrode and a second current electrode, which are symmetrically arranged in a first direction, and a first voltage electrode and a second voltage electrode, which are symmetrically arranged in the first direction; a second electrode body that comes into contact with the body of the user and includes a third current electrode and a fourth current electrode, which are symmetrically arranged in a second direction, and a third voltage electrode and a fourth voltage electrode, which are symmetrically arranged in the second direction; and at least one processor that obtains first bioimpedance through the first electrode body, obtains second bioimpedance through the second electrode body, identifies one of the first bioimpedance and the second bioimpedance on the basis of the phase of each of the first bioimpedance and the second bioimpedance, obtains total body water of the user by using the identified bioimpedance, and provides the obtained total body water.
