Abstract A system for delivering a vascular implant into a body lumen of a patient having an elongated delivery device having an outer member and a delivery member positioned within the lumen of the outer member. The delivery member has an engagement member at a distal portion and a detachment zone spaced proximally of the engagement member. The engagement member is engageable with a first engagement portion of the implant. Energy is applied to the delivery member to detach the engagement member from the delivery wire and separate the implant along with the engagement member from the delivery member. L'invention concerne un système pour introduire un implant vasculaire dans une lumière corporelle d'un patient présentant un dispositif d'introduction allongé ayant un élément externe et un élément d'introduction positionné à l'intérieur de la lumière de l'élément externe. L'élément d'introduction comporte un élément de mise en prise au niveau d'une partie distale et une zone de détachement espacée de manière proximale de l'élément de mise en prise. L'élément de mise en prise peut venir en prise avec une première partie de mise en prise de l'implant. De l'énergie est appliquée à l'élément d'introduction pour détacher l'élément de mise en prise du fil d'introduction et séparer l'implant conjointement avec l'élément de mise en prise à partir de l'élément d'introduction.
