A sensor mounted to the industrial vehicle determines whether the putaway location is empty, and if the putaway location is empty, the industrial vehicle completes a pivot maneuver such that a portion of the industrial vehicle is inside the putaway location while the pivot maneuver is in progress. Selon l'invention, un processus d'alignement d'un véhicule industriel pour une opération de rangement comprend le déplacement jusqu'à une position associée à un emplacement de rangement. Un capteur monté sur le véhicule industriel détermine si l'emplacement de rangement est vide, et si l'emplacement de rangement est vide, le véhicule industriel réalise une manœuvre de pivotement de sorte qu'une partie du véhicule industriel se trouve à l'intérieur de l'emplacement de rangement pendant que la manœuvre de pivotement est en cours.
