An adsorbent (10) has an electromagnetic wave heating material (13) that generates heat using electromagnetic waves. The adsorbent (10) includes an adsorptive material (15) that can adsorb an adsorbate and desorb the adsorbed adsorbate by means of heat generation. The content of the electromagnetic wave heating material (13) increases from a surface (11) of the adsorbent (10) toward the center (12) of the adsorbent (10).
