Abstract | Described herein are methods for differentiating human pluripotent stem cells into populations of retinal cells comprising photoreceptor neural cells (PNCs) in dynamic culture. Also provided are cells and cellular compositions obtained by such methods, and uses of such cells in a suspension or imbedded in a scaffold that can be administered to a subject suffering from a retinal disease or disorder.
