The present application provides an environment adjustment device (100) and a control method therefor, said environment adjustment device (100) including: a casing (1); a fan device (2) that is provided in the interior of the casing (1), sucks an exterior gas into the interior of the casing (1) from an intake aperture (11), and blows a gas out from an exhaust aperture (12) of the casing (1); a processing device (3) that processes the gas that was sucked into the interior of the casing (1); a detection device (4) that detects room interior information; a slider (5) that is movably provided in a ventilation aperture (10a) of the casing (1), a peripheral wall of the ventilation aperture (10a) surrounding the slider (5), a gap being formed between the slider (5) and the peripheral wall of the ventilation aperture (10a), the slider (5) sliding relative to the ventilation aperture so as to control the size of the gap, and the ventilation aperture (10a) including at least one of the intake aperture (11) and the exhaust aperture (12); and a control device (6) that drives the sliding of the slider (5) on the basis of the room interior information detected by the detection device (4), so as to adjust the location of the slider (5) relative to the ventilation aperture (10a).
