ACTIVE COMPOUND ENCAPSULATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF FORMULATING THE SAME

An encapsulation system, for encapsulating at least one active compound as well as a method for formulating the same is described. The encapsulation system includes an encapsulating material and at least one active compound. The encapsulating material comprises a eutectic alternatively a non-eutectic (hypo or hyper eutectic) mixture and at least one additive. During the formulation of the encapsulation system the encapsulating material is homogenously combined with the at least one active compound in a solvent medium comprising a supercritical compound to form a matrix which encapsulates the active compound so that, in use, the active compound is protected from both ambient environmental factors and gastric attack. Protection against both ambient environmental factors and gastric attack leads to increased shelf and gastric stability which is desirable with respect to both the high costs associated with medicaments and specific release profiles for medicaments respectively. L'invention concerne un système d'encapsulation pour encapsuler au moins un composé actif, ainsi qu'un procédé pour le formuler. Le système d'encapsulation comprend un matériau d'encapsulation et au moins un composé actif. Le matériau d'encapsulation comprend un mélange eutectique en variante non eutectique (hypo ou hyper eutectique) et au moins un additif. Lors de la formulation du système d'encapsulation, le matériau d'encapsulation est combiné de manière homogène au(x) composé(s) actif(s) dans un milieu solvant comprenant un composé supercritique pour former une matrice qui encapsule le composé actif de telle sorte que, lors de l'utilisation, le composé actif est protégé à la fois des facteurs environnementaux ambiants et de l'attaque gastrique. La protection contre les facteurs environnementaux ambiants et l'attaque gastrique permet une augmentation de la stabilité de stockage et de la stabilité gastrique qui est souhaitable à la fois du fait des coûts élevés associés aux médicaments et des profils de libération spécifiques souhaités pour des médicaments, respectivement.
