Disclosed are an electronic device for providing information about oil and/or moisture of skin by using at least one image acquired with visible light, and a control method therefor. The electronic device according to one embodiment of the present document comprises: a display; at least one camera; a first light-emitting module having a first-type polarization filter; a second light-emitting module having a second-type polarization filter different from the first-type polarization filter; and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to: acquire at least one image of a portion of the body of a user by using the at least one camera, while light is being outputted from at least one of the first light-emitting module or the second light-emitting module; acquire, from the acquired image, identification information indicating at least one of the amount of oil or the amount of moisture of the portion of the body; and provide, via the display, information about at least one of the amount of oil or the amount of moisture on the basis of the acquired identification information.
