Abstract | The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material which comprises a lithium composite transition metal oxide in the form of a single particle made of one nodule and/or a quasi-single particle which is an aggregate of at most 30 nodules, wherein the lithium composite transition metal oxide comprises Ni, Co, Mn, and Al, the molar ratio of Ni relative to the total number of moles of metal elements except for lithium is at least 0.83 and less than 1, the ratio of the number of moles of Co relative to the number of moles of Mn is at least 0.5 and less than 1, and the ratio of the number of moles of Co relative to the number of moles of Al is 5 to 15.
