Abstract | A syringe assembly void of silicone is disclosed. The syringe assembly includes a syringe plunger and a syringe barrel. The syringe plunger includes a handle and a plunger tip. The plunger tip includes a wiper extending from a hinge configured to allow the wiper to flex proximally and distally. The wiper includes a proximal circumferential seal and a distal circumferential seal. The proximal circumferential seal is configured to seal against an internal surface of the syringe barrel when the syringe plunger is displaced proximally and a negative pressure is generated within the syringe barrel. The distal circumferential seal is configured to seal against the internal surface of the syringe barrel when the syringe plunger is displaced distally and a positive pressure is generated within the syringe barrel. The syringe barrel includes internal detents to retain the syringe plunger within the syringe barrel.
