Abstract The present invention relates to an ultrasound receiver that receives torsional waves from a sample (1), said receiver comprising: a flexible receiving ring (7) acoustically coupled with the sample (1); one or more perforated slots in the receiving ring (7); and one or more transducers (8) housed in the one or more slots of the receiving ring (7); the one or more transducers (8) being electrically connected to the receiving ring (7) by means of a layer of conductive material. The invention further comprises a device (2) comprising: said receiver, an ultrasound emitter (5) and a casing (12) that houses both emitter (5) and receiver. Likewise, the invention discloses a method for measuring mechanical parameters of the sample (1) by using the device (2).
