Abstract RFID tag reply phase measurements can be used to estimate tag location and motion. The phase measurements can be used to directly calculate tag location / motion or to generate correlation probabilities with candidate tags having different location / motion characteristics. An RFID reader system can take multiple phase measurements for a tag, at different carrier frequencies, within a single inventory round, to ensure that the tag remains within range of the reader system. Des mesures de phase de réponse d'étiquette RFID peuvent être utilisées pour estimer l'emplacement et le mouvement de l'étiquette. Les mesures de phase peuvent être utilisées pour calculer directement l'emplacement/le mouvement de l'étiquette ou pour générer des probabilités de corrélation avec des étiquettes candidates ayant des caractéristiques d'emplacement/mouvement différentes. Un système de lecteur RFID peut prendre de multiples mesures de phase pour une étiquette, à différentes fréquences porteuses, dans une seule session d'inventaire, afin de garantir que l'étiquette reste dans la portée du système de lecture.
