Abstract A solid electrolyte material according to the present disclosure contains Li, M, I and X. M is at least one element that is selected from the group consisting of Al, Ga and In. X is at least one element that is selected from the group consisting of F, O and S. A battery 1000 according to the present disclosure is provided with a positive electrode 201, a negative electrode 203, and an electrolyte layer 202 that is arranged between the positive electrode 201 and the negative electrode 203. At least one member selected from the group consisting of the positive electrode 201, the negative electrode 203 and the electrolyte layer 202 contains the solid electrolyte material according to the present disclosure.
