Abstract | According to various embodiments, an electronic apparatus comprises: a housing; a flexible display including a display area, wherein the display area is expandable in at least one direction with respect to the housing to be visually exposed as a portion of the flexible display moves through the housing; and at least one processor operatively connected to the flexible display, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to: display first content on a first area of the flexible display; detect an event for displaying second content related to the first content; identify an attribute of the second content in response to the detection of the event; identify, on the basis of the attribute of the second content, a direction in which the flexible display is to be expanded; and display at least a portion of the second content on a second area of the flexible display expanded in the identified direction. Various other embodiments may be provided.
