An electronic device may be configured to: receive at least one advertisement (ADV) packet from an external electronic device by using a first wireless communication circuit; determine whether to upload identification information regarding the external electronic device, on the basis of at least one of information regarding a channel through which the at least one ADV packet is received and information regarding the external electronic device included in the at least one ADV packet; and in response to the determination to upload the identification information, transmit the identification information regarding the external electronic device and position information regarding the electronic device. Various other embodiments identified by the present document are also possible.
