L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de purification d'un flux de procédé Bayer qui comprend une étape de FILTRATION comprenant au moins un filtre configuré pour filtrer une matière particulaire provenant d'au moins un flux de liquide ionique des étapes EXTRACTION, DÉCAPAGE et REGEN. Le filtrage de matière particulaire à partir du ou des flux de liquide ionique réduit les quantités de matière particulaire circulante et réduit le potentiel de formation de résidu.
